Social Networking… blessing or curse…

There have been many articles lately posted about popular social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. Most users do not realize their public broadcast even if they have so called “private” settings. I enjoy the many benefits of having a Facebook account. I can stay in touch with friends, coworkers, and other educators across the country. I have chosen to use it many ways, however, I do not post things that would inhibit my pride or affect my job. Many young users do not realize how things can look to some users. They do not realize that future schools, job-seekers, teachers, and parents are viewing their every move. With this in mind here are some interesting articles that everyone should read.

Social Networking… blessing or curse…

I also find that every time I try to explain this point to a young person their eyes start to glaze over. How would you suggest to kick off this conversation in a productive way?
