Web 2.0 is making a difference in education. In our school division, students participate in division decisions. Their recommendations provide a great starting point in developing classroom 2.0. By placing students in charge organizing, developing and networking information via blogs and wikis; by placing students in charge of learning how they want to is motivating and successful. More teachers are playing the role of "guide on the side" rather than "sage on the stage".

I work in a school district which has strict internet safety guidelines, I find that that we excel in using the technology with which we are given. Currently our school system has purchased smart boards and our ITRTs are helping teachers integrate their use within the classroom. It has been a great review tool in preparing students for tests and a fun way for them to complete their reviews when the stress of a test is bearing on them. Wikispaces is a Web 2.0 tool that we are initiating into select classrooms at the secondary level. I would have to say that although blogging, wikispaces, and podcasts are all tools with which we are familiar, one has to keep student safety at the forefront of lesson planning and it is sometimes best to use the tools that are readily available and use them to their fullest potential.

Hi from TN! We're getting teachers started with their own webpages from Google Pages, trying to get wikis to be common place, and working with the builders in Discovery streaming.
