Stunning Student Work
About a month ago, I had the pleasure of attending a teacher awards ceremony held in the Washington DC area. One of my highlights was a conversation I had with a few teachers from North Canton, Ohio. By the end our discussion, I had in my hands a DVD produced by the students of Hoover High School, “Hometown Heroes: The Story of North Canton.”
I recently had a chance to sit down and watch this DVD and simply put, I was amazed. This story of North Canton discusses the impact that both the Hoover Company and World War II had on this small community. Students seamlessly integrated narration, first-hand accounts and wartime footage, presenting their story in a manner that both educates and engages.
This was an extraordinary story masterfully told by the high school students of North Canton and I strongly encourage you to visit their website at: http://www.northcanton.sparcc.org/~tv11.
