Please plan to join us at the DEN Reception that will be held in the Central Atrium of the Pheasant Run Resort on March 2, beginning at 4:45 p.m. This event will start at the end of the first day of general sessions at the IL-TCE Technology Conference and the main purpose is to honor the great group of Discovery Educators in Illinois and to share information about the DEN to other conference participants. Appetizers and beverages will be served and it should be a great opportunity to see and talk to friends and colleagues from across the state. The winners of the Lesson Design Competition will receive their awards at the end of the evening and the teacher who created the best lesson design will receive an InFocus LCD projector. The reception is hosted and sponsored by the Discovery Educator Network and Discovery Education.
As you may already know, the theme of the IL-TCE conference this year is “Igniting Student Achievement,” and the conference schedule includes four full days of pre-conference workshops, general sessions on a wide variety of topics, keynotes, poster sessions, and vendor demonstrations. The IL-TCE conference is sponsored by the Illinois Computing Educators organization, and it looks like this year’s event will be bigger and more comprehensive than ever. The pre-conference workshops will be held on February 28 and March1 at the Pheasant Run Resort complex in St. Charles, and all of the main conference events will be held on March 2-3. This a great opportunity to learn about emerging technologies and meet teachers from across the state who are also looking for new and exciting ways to integrate digital resources into their lessons and projects. I hope to see you in St. Charles next week.
