Toys for Tots Discovery Style

100_0801For the past three days, I got into the holiday spirit by visiting a local school to hand out presents, listen to wish lists and deflect questions about where my reindeer were.  As I have come to do now anywhere I go, I managed to tie unitedstreaming into the mix.  While Santa (who is much younger and much more handsome than I remember as a child…see pic to the left) handed out toys (unfortunately not every child received the American Chopper toy bike), the rest of the children sat patiently in the audtorium and watched The Magic School Bus Holiday Special.  All of this was made possible by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.  Thousands of gifts were donated to the one school I visited and hundreds of children went home this week with big smiles on their faces.

Happy Holidays!

Thanks for sharing how you took time to make the season more joyful for school children. My students are loving to do “Pay it Forward” activities this year. We are making a difference one random act of kindness at a time.

Blessings and warm wishes to you during this great holiday time.

What an awesome way to begin the holidays! I am sure the kids really appreciated it. I teach in an inner-city school and I know our kids do! I hope you have an awesome holiday!

PS Go STEELERS! Maybe there is still some hope since they are 7-7 with games on X-mas and New Year’s Eve. :)

Great photo and great link to the Magic School Bus special. I forgot we had that in there. If you haven’t tried elf-ing yourself yet, check the “hidden” blog at It is SO much fun. Try it with a kids’face and surprise them (below age 10)
Happy Holidays! That was a nice thing, buddy.
