DEN webinars are a great free resource. Wednesday, April 4, at 5 PM – 6 PM Eastern time, I am giving one entitled "Staggeringly Good Things About Mixing Google Earth and Media". We’ll talk about mixing audio, graphics, and videos into the real terrain of Google Earth in ways you may not have thought of. Flickr and wikipedia layers, too. Make the real hills come alive with media! Click here to sign up. I’ll also talk about community sites where lessons are already built and posted. Incentive: See pictures of me with a (real) beard, as well as the yearbook shot from my middle school teaching days, pasted appropriately around the planet. That 70’s show was never uglier than this…If you want a look at some background on Google Earth and education, check out The Infinite Thinking Machine site for a webisode with a video made in a fifth-grade classroom that mastered overlays from their hard drive. If you miss the webinar, at least catch the resources at EdTechConnect. (link posted tomorrow). While we’re on Google, the next Google Teacher Academy, with Discovery help will be in sunny Santa Monica, CA. Video applications (natch!) are due April 23.
