Get ready to take flight with classes around the nation.  Several teachers and students have been very busy completing a series of "Missions" from DEN’s Earth and Space Virtual Project.

Today we are please to unveil the results of "Mission 1"   The task was to create a Google Earth Placemark debuting your class to the others participating in the project.  Their results literally soared!  Take a look by downloading this special kmz file Google Earth file.

It’s not too late to add your placemark to the group.  When yours is complete, please email it to Jannita_Demian@discovery.com

As students finish up Mission 2, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our final Mission… an Out of this World Podcast.  To learn more about this Mission, please visit the DEN Earth and Space Virtual Project website.

While you visit, don’t forget to have you and your students participate in the latest poll "What would be your biggest challenge if you were an astronaut on a mission to the moon?" or connect with other classes in the collaboration forum.

We will host one final student webinar on how to create a podcast using Audacity on Thursday, May 17th at 1 pm EDT.

Download den_space_earth_mission_1.kmz  (note: it is a large final and may take a few minutes to download… but it’s definitely worth the wait!)

We enjoyed taking a trip across the US this afternoon. We did a similar tour with all the places from Year On Earth. Another great teaching tool.
