Okay, I am horrible at keeping things written down that I should do. I spent over a hundred dollars on a Franklin Planner. I can’t remember the last time I took it out of the trunk of my car. However, I’ve found a solution that works for me.
Enter PingMe. PingMe is a free website that allows you to type small text messages to yourself and send them out in the future. You pick the date and time to remind yourself of an important meeting, a task that needs to be done, or a phone call you need to make. It has helped me remember Discovery webinars and more.
Your PingMe account can send the messages to your cell phone (my default) or your email account. But there’s more!
Do you teach in a team? Are you part of a committee? Do you have kids? A husband like me? Involved with a DEN Leadership Council? Have everyone in your group create an account. Then, you or the head of your group can send out reminders to the entire group about important meetings (IEPs, 504s, faculty meetings, training, dinner at grandma’s, etc). You pick the date and time you want to remind everyone. Presto! Now you can forget it.
If you sign up for PingMe, the Ping Me! My user name is tchilders. See you in the txt msg!
