Our first Wednesday Workshops at the DEN was held November 7th. Our guest presenter Thonalon Umurov planned a great session to teach the basics of building. He started out explaining prims and the ways to edit 3D objects. The session began with participants selecting a sphere shape, learning how to enlarge it, move it, and then hollow it out to make a vase or planter. Thon then showed us how to change textures and gave a link a landmark to find some freebie building tools and textures. I can’t wait to see the final planters and vases decorating offices and homes in SL that were created by our DEN in SL members last night. In fact, I would LOVE to have you send me a picture of your creation so that I might add it to this blog. Please send your image (preferably jpeg, or a link to the image on Flickr to me, firstname.lastname@example.org; please list ‘Thon’s Pottery’ as your ^Subject^ — thanks!!!) Check out ‘Basic Pottery Workshop Notes from Thonalon Umarov’ in the ^Pages^ section of our Google Groups.
Thank you Thonalon for sharing your knowledge with the DEN in SL members and for being the FIRST presenter in our ‘Wednesday Workshop’ series.
We hope to see you at our future Wednesday Workshops:
November 14 – ‘Take a Picture, It Will Last Longer’
November 28 – ‘You Are Your Profile’
December 12 – ‘Your Inventory Is NOT Your Junk Closet!’
