DEN Blog Tips: Changing your title and byline

Did you know that as a reward for being a STAR Discovery Educator, you get your very own blog hosted by Discovery Education? It’s true! I have to tell you, it’s one of the best blogs you’ll find out there on the internet. And I can get away with making a broad sweeping statement like that, because I’ve seen them all!

Of course, it doesn’t do you any good if you aren’t using it. So consider this the first in what will be an ongoing series in how to tweak your own personal DEN blog.

Watch the quick screencast below to learn how to change your blog’s title, byline and how to get rid of that initial “Hello World” post.

I noticed on some blogs their blogroll is in the left hand column…I can’t get mine to show…Are we allowed to use our blogs for classroom purposes?

Absolutely! You certainly can and are encouraged to. There’s a few ways to do it. One of my favorites is to use the Blogroll tab to add all my links. Then, go to Presentation -> Widgets and drag the “Links” widget to your sidebar of choice. Do that and all the links you added under Blogroll will appear!
