A Whole New World
In the last couple of weeks, I’ve adventured into a whole new world. No, not the one with the blue genie. I’m talking about Second Life. I’ve wanted to try this out since I first heard about in an episode of CSI NY back in 2007. At the time, I didn’t realize the professional development opportunities Second Life could offer. So far, I haven’t participated in any due to my inability to be in world when they are happening, but if Mother Nature rains on my ball game tomorrow night, I just may be able to experience one first hand.
I’m a newbie to SL, my experiences so far with Second Life have been basic – finding free clothes, learning to navigate, and learning how to communicate. I’m doing okay, with the help of a few friends, but certainly have a way to go. If you have any tips, feel free to share.
April 24th marks the Grand Reopening of the DEN in Second Life. I hope to make a visit and check things out – if you see a dude named Barney, say hi – it just might be me. If you’re interested, I think you should stop by as well – I think it’s going to be a worthwhile event! For more information, check out the DEN Second Life blog.
