The Kansas Discovery Education Leadership Council has started to develop a wiki to be used for Day of Discovery events. On June 5, 2009 a Day of Discovery was hosted in Hutchinson, Kansas. The event took place at the Kansas Cosmosphere. Participants were given a tour of the facility and time to tour the museum. Upon selecting one item (artifact) from the museum participants could use a Flip camera, items from DE Streaming, and their laptops to create either an enhanced podcast or short video regarding the artifact of their choice.
Here is one of the completed projects from the event. Kevin Knisely of Oxford, Kansas created this project.
The Kansas LC encourages you to feel free to use any of the resources and curriculum integration ideas to within your classroom. We just ask that if you do, please share how you incorporated them as well as any projects created. After all, DEN is all about collaboration!
