This week we are proud to feature one of the most active Leadership Councils, Tennessee!
The TN LC has hosted events at the Tennessee Aquarium as well as your local Best Buy. And if you think that sounds like a strange place for a DEN event, you weren’t the only one! But just wait till you read through the details. But that’s not even the most unusual event they’ve hosted. Would you believe that 32 DEN members joined the LC as they took a voyage down the TN River? Definitely wins the award for the most unusual place to hold a digital photography workshop!
And in typical TN fashion, they’ve recently created a new Glog that highlights some of their past events and even includes a few websites recommended by the Leadership Council. Definitely check it out.
Teryl Magee is the LC Chair. She was recently named to the National School Board Association’s “20 to Watch” list of education technology leaders for 2009. She has been the Chair from the beginning, and we just couldn’t envision the job being done by anyone else!
Tim Childers is theBlog Coordinator. Tim also serves as the primary photographer and videographer of our events. Like Teryl, he has been the main blogger for the TN LC since its inception.
Karla Halcomb serves as the Events Coordinator. Not only does she coordinate their needs with Discovery, but she also does a bang up job decorating for events as well. Karla has a real knack for hospitality, and she puts it to good use for the TN LC. Again, she has served as the only Events Coordinator they’ve had.
Sally Walter is the fourth founding member of the TN LC. Sally was also the first Tennessee member of the DEN. Recently, they’ve added Carole Romeiser and Tina Moore from East Tennessee. And they’ve worked their way to the West with Gail Braddock, Clif Mims, and Paula Jaenichen from Memphis as well.
However, that’s just the short list. If you’d like to learn more about our leaders in the Volunteer State, visit the page they’ve recently created highlighting each member of the LC.
So join me in recognizing the members of the Tennessee Leadership Council for all their efforts, hard work, and consistent leadership in the DEN community.
