GPB Presents Free Educator Workshop on Faces of America!

Faces of America Event At The National Archives in Morrow, GAOn Friday January 29, 2010, the National Archives at Atlanta, along with Georgia Public Broadcasting, the Georgia Historical Society, and the Georgia Humanities Council, presented a free educator workshop on the program Faces of America. Participants were treated to a presentation on genealogy and taught how to use the archives for historical research by Kenneth H. Thomas, Jr. Other presentations included a demonstration of lesson plans designed to bring the Faces of America programming into the classroom, and demonstrations of Discovery Atlas and GPB Streaming by Jennifer Dorman. Faces of America will air nationally on PBS on February 10, 17, 24, and  March 4. The website is www.pbs.org/facesofamerica.
