Greetings From You Iowa DEN Leadership Council

Central Iowa Student Technology Fair Judges Needed:
The tech fair will be on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in the morning at the Ballroom and Great Hall at Iowa State University . (See the ITEC website for more information at
http://www.itec-ia.org/en/tech_fair/central_student_technology_fair/ )

Judging is a great experience (you will work with a partner) and if you would like to be involved, contact Sandi Lathrum at both of these addresses: slathrum@norwalk.k12.ia.us
lathrums@netins.net

DEN Science Experts Needed:
If you have experience teaching science and using Discovery Education Science products, and would be interested in earning money creating assignments, contact Brad Fountain at (brad_fountain@discovery.com).

DEN Spring Training:
Be sure to work on your DAL (DEN Activity Level) and earn some prizes. Details can be found at: http://blog.discoveryeducation.com/blog/2010/03/19/den-spring-training-2010/

Den Virtual Conference:
Don’t forget to register for and attend the DEN virtual conference on Saturday, April 24th. Consider getting a group of colleagues together in a computer lab to participate in this incredible event. Check out the DEN blog for the list of sessions and information on registering:

Iowa DEN Meeting:
I would love to have a statewide DEN meeting in late April or early May, using the ICN classrooms. DEN members would have the chance to sign up to do a presentation on how they are using DE streaming in their district or AEA. If you are interested in participating, send me an e-mail (I’ll send out a Google form survey in the next week or so to try and pin down some possible dates.)

What a great way to find Science Fair judges! I plan to share this idea with my science teacher friends in other schools. STARS would be a great pool to draw from.
