Massachusetts New Literacies Institute June 21-25, 2010
“Changing the World of Teaching and Learning”
The Massachusetts New Literacies Institute, running this June 21-25 at the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center in Cambridge, MA, will focus on helping Massachusetts educators prepare students for the online literacy skills required in the 21st century. This week-long session, facilitated by leaders in the field, is designed to prepare educators for teaching with 21st Century digital tools. Activities will include inquiry projects, workshops, panel discussions, design studios, featured speakers and just-in-time learning. Graduate credit is an option. Teachers in grade 4-12, from all academic areas, as well as educational administrators are invited, but must register as a team of 3-5 members from each district or school. In addition, you must bring your own wireless laptop and have a TSAT proficiency level of at least “Developing Tech.” This Technology Self-Assessment Tool is available at http://www/doe.mass.edu/edtech/standards/sa_tool.html
