What a wonderful day we had all over the state of Texas sharing with friends on our Discovery Photowalk through the state’s nature gardens. Dallas/Ft. Worth, Austin and Houston all had teachers meeting to participate in this fun and relaxing event. Austin met at the Laguna Gloria Museum, DFW met at River Legacy Park and Houston met at the Houston Arboretum. It began with a several hour walk here in Houston through the beautiful winding pathways of Memorial Park’s Arboretum. More than 15 friends of Discovery participated and took pictures of Mother Nature’s beauty. We even spent some time inside the nature center learning about the park and what all it has to offer students throughout the region. After we finished at the Arboretum, we met across town at a little Bar-B-Q place called Hickory Hollow BBQ and shared a wonderful meal while listening to a photography webinar by Joe Brennan from Discovery. We were able to see an talk to the other groups around the state and chat with them a bit online. All -in-all it was a wonderful day that will not be forgotten… especially since every moment is detailed through the pictures we took.
This day was not only about the photowalk, since there was also a prize up for grabs. Members who attended the event chose their favorite pictures from the day and submitted them for the local awards. Now it is your turn to look at those winners and decide which one is your favorite. The following are the winners from the different locations:
