We got started bright and early today on the Bentley campus with a great breakfast outdoors under the huge, white tent. Then we all gathered to take part in a three hour session with Dr. Lodge McCammon. He showed us how to incorporate video in a variety of methods into our classrooms. My favorite part was when we were divided into three groups to plan our music video for a song Lodge wrote about what being a part of the DEN means. One lucky team is going to win an ice cream party for making the best video. After lunch we boarded the trolleys for a tour of Boston. Buzz was the tour guide on my trolley and he kept us entertained with facts about the landmarks of the city and his humor. Our last stop on our tour was at the home of FableVision. We were treated to pizza and drinks by Peter Reynolds and his staff. Then Peter told us about his latest book Rose’s Garden. He got choked up as he tried to read a letter from the late Senator Ted Kennedy thanking him for having written a book based on his mother, Rose. We were all surprised when he announced that each of us would be receiving a copy of the book. He was gracious as he signed our books and chatted with each one of us.We all arrived back at the dorms tired but happy with the events of the day.
