Here’s another post from Cathy and Rita.
Our day at the DEN National Leadership Institute could not have been better. We started out the day with an overview of the amazing new features in Discovery Education. It was officially released last Wednesday so be sure to check it out to see the major changes. After lunch we boarded a private trolley on our tour of Boston. The day was fantastic. Our trolley driver Sue had all sort of fun facts to share with us. Our first stop was to Fenway Park. There we had a chance to see the field, take photos and shop for souvenirs. Faneuil Hall was another stop where we were able to shop. It is an historic marketplace. Our favorite stop was to Fabelvision, where we had a chance to meet and talk with Peter and Paul Reynolds, creators of Fablevision. Peter Reynolds is the author of the books The Ish, The Dot and did all the illustrations for the Judy Moody. The surprise of the evening was a chance to have our pictures taken with Peter Reynold and receive an autograph copy of his book, So Few of Me. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity.Check back tomorrow for more news from Boston.
(Note: I’m thinking the Sue the trolley driver was the same one Rachel and I had. It’s great to hear that the Summer Institute STARS experienced the same great day as the LC attendees.)
