They say you should never start a speech with an apology. I’m not sure if that applies to blogs or not. If it does, then I apologize for apologizing up front. I’m late in getting this post up from our Day of Discovery at Franklin High School in Franklin, TN. So let’s give you a quick update.
We had nearly 100 educators show up excitedly on Monday to learn about DE Streaming. Our agenda included 3 workshops and an additional breakout. Jen Dorman covered STEM. Justin Karkow demonstrated how easy it is for students to create their own artifacts of learning. Tim discussed DE Streaming in the Humanities classes. And our very own Sandra Ford was on hand to meet with teachers that needed to learn more about DE Assessment.
The day was a wonderful experience. As always, we get the privilege of meeting some great educators from around the state. Attendees came from as far away as Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and my very own Bradley County Schools.
Our heartfelt thanks to those in Franklin and Williamson County Schools who helped coordinate registration, rooms, technology, and more. Franklin High School is a beautiful venue. And, with fingers crossed, we hope we found some teachers to help our leadership council in the Nashville area of the state!
In all, we had a great day. Participants should have received an email with a link to an evaluation form. Please take the time to fill out that form. At the end, you will get links to all the resources we used and the websites we talked about during the day.
Keep watching this space for announcements of other upcoming events in Tennessee!
