Next week educators from all over Massachusetts will come together at the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators (MassCUE) conference at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. It is at this conference several years ago that I became quite intrigued with Discovery Education. I attended a break out session that featured Hall Davidson and learned so many valuable applications for the tools of DE. I was so excited to learn how to embed video clips and many other ways students could manipulate video content to create projects uniquely their own.
Another Discovery Education sponsored star that will be at the conference will be Kathy Schrock. Her weekly newsletters to fellow educators sharing her expertise are invaluable. She has offered many hands-on sessions to evaluate and explore numerous new Web 2.0 tools that can easily be integrated into the classroom. Her trainings as well as the break out sessions featuring the Discovery Education crew are very popular at the conference.
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to meet with these as well as other pioneers in education at this conference. As a new teacher, these experiences have been both informative as well as inspiring. With each ensuing year, I have developed a broader circle of comrades to collaborate with as well as learn from. It is important to take the time to rejuvenate ourselves as educators and remember that each day we can make a difference. Thank you to all these educators who share their successes and even some of their challenges with us so that we may grow together in our profession.
Looking forward to meeting some new faces at MassCUE.
