Description: This presentation is designed for educators who have an interest in integrating Visual Literacy and Web 3.0 tools. Participants will explore the power of Web 3.0 as a means of enhancing the principles of visual literacy. Key data as it relates to Visual Literacy and acquiring and retention of knowledge is presented to form the foundation of the presentation. Specific strategies for locating digital media will be shared with participants. Once equipped with the above, we will look at the various Web 3.0 applications which allow for the collection, presentation, and dissemination of digital media. By the end of the presentation, each participant will understand the impact of visual literacy on the learning process; will be able to produce, and integrate digital media into their curriculum and share via the internet; and will have developed a ‘toolbox’ of resources to use as they integrate Web 3.0 into Visual Literacy.
