There were 31 teachers from the Dallas area that gathered together on Sunday Jan. 23 at the Apple Knox Street Store to learn how to use the iPad. Introducing the session was a karaoke video: We Are The DEN with music by Dr. Lodge McCammon. Two Apple Creatives, Lexi Hart and Michael Tuerk showcased the iTunes Store and explained how to set up an account and search for apps such as: Discovery News and U.S. Geography as well as TV Seasons such as Planet Earth and Discovery Atlas. Lexi explained about podcasts and how to listen, download and subscribe to episodes such as Mythbusters and Animal Planet.
The participants learned the process of syncing and getting different assets onto a mobile device. The highlight of the evening was the demonstration of a video camera to project an iPad screen onto a large scale television monitor.
