Publishing Student Work

Quite often, teachers plan culminating activities for the school year and want to publish student work. There are a great number of online resources to share and post student work. Another avenue besides posting online to a website or blog is to design and upload the student work and then print the written piece of work in a hard bound book commemorating the past school year. This is a great way for students to create a portfolio of student work as well create special memories for students.

There are numerous online sites that will accomplish this. Not all of the student work has to be printed offline but the option is there if you choose to print the published student work. Although printing offline does not save trees, it does motivate students to continue writing and improve their published pieces. Below are several resources that you can use to publish student work. Websites like Photo Peach, Animoto or VoiceThread allow the work to be stored online and add narration or music to the students’ creations. With Mother’s Day coming up, the resources below would be very special momentos for parents as keepsakes of the school year.

Some of these links don’t connect to the correct sites. for example: the PhotoPeach link opens Voice Thread’s site!
