DENSI — part 5

Posted for Kass Bates:

I am holding a workshop for K-2 McKinney teachers next Monday titled “Reading Rumble.” It will help to get teachers thinking about projects they can do with their students using some of latest children’s books.  My plan is to create a mash-up from one of the  books. So that’s definitely something I learned that I will be using immediately. Will also be looking epubooks to see how this can be linked to the “rumble.”
I’m still mulling over ways to use the Pecha Kucha and will share this with my leadership team. Such a great tool for condensing thought. Am also planning on using google docs to share and create info with this Admin team. For my own personal learning I am going to focus on using green screen. I know this has been a focus at Discovery events for the past several years but I just took the plunge to the latest iLife version from 07 so I’m now ready to join in on the green wave.
Finally, I can’t wait to share with my staff and students all the great resources and opportunities for differentiation that Discovery offers. Three truths and a lie will probably become a staple on my campus.

It was an incredible week. The DEN staff is amazing. I can’t thank them enough for providing me the opportunity to learn and share with so many wonderful people.
