November is National Epilepsy Awareness month. Having a daughter with this disorder, it is something that has transformed not only her life but the lives of every person in her life. A previous den post by Jannita Demian (thanks Jannita!) spoke of how this disorder affected her family’s life as well. This is a far more common health issue than most realize and one that I personally wish was more in the forefront of current research. Millions of people (1 in 100!) suffer from this wide-ranging illness. Please click Jannita’s link to find great information on the variety of epilepsy disorders as well as the dos and don’ts for caring for someone with this illness. There are many misconceptions about what to do to help someone while they are seizing.
