Impact Day at the National Mall

The final installment of the Discover Your Impact Day posts!

Working in Silver Spring, MD, we tend to forget how close we are to the nation’s capital. The National Mall in Washington, DC is a beautiful tourist destination that is now a little bit more beautiful thanks to Discovery employees who volunteered their time for Discover Your Impact Day!

Karen and Michael were with a team of Discovery employees who picked up trash at the National Mall.  Other Discovery volunteers cleared weeds and trash along benches so tourists and locals alike could have a clean place to sit and enjoy the scenery.  Managed by the National Park Service, the National Mall and Memorial Parks cover more than 1000 acres of parkland.  The Discovery employees may not have covered that much ground last Friday, but they definitely made an impact!
