The Back to School Dash!
I walked into my classroom last Thursday for the first time all summer! If you know me.. this is kind of crazy! I had not seen the inside of my classroom ALL summer! I had been filling my brain with all of the amazing professional development I was getting through ISTE, Podstock, and DENSI2012.
In other words, my brain is refreshed and I am excited to start a new year! Before I can start a new year, however, I must get organized.
Things I will be doing/or have done:
- go through google reader and unsubsribe to blogs that have not been updated in a year or more. I know this sounds tedious (and it was!) but I follow almost 300 blogs! During my lunch break I use the app flipboard to read through all of my blogs. I enjoy following blogs, because most of the time they are not blocked within the district and they usually have great pictures to gain ideas from.
-I have downloaded the expensify app so I can keep better track of my travel expenses.
-I am cleaning off my desktop (not the real one, but the computer one!) Do you have hundreds of folders on your desktop? I find that right before school starts I like to start fresh and organized.
-I have already set goals for myself for this year. You can find more about them here at my Busy Bee Blog. Although teaching is hard and time consuming, I think that it is so important to SHARE what we are doing! So, I will be blogging at least every Monday (if not more) I also LOVE reading other teacher’s blogs and watching videos of how classrooms work or are organized. I don’t want to just take, so I blog and keep up with a youtube page so I am giving back too.
What do you do to prepare for Back to School? I haven’t even mentioned all of the AMAZING Discovery Education Network resources that I am going to be able to use!

I feel inspired to get more organized, too. Thanks, Andrea! (…And way to go with Expensify)
