DEN Fall Virtual Conference for Knoxville, TN

NOTE: We have had to cancel the belated Fall Virtual Conference scheduled for October 27 in Knoxville.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  Please find another great way to enjoy your Saturday!

The TN DEN Leadership Council is hosting a “belated” Fall Virtual Conference on Saturday, October 27, 2012.  We are waiting a week due to the “live” event happening during our Fall Break.

This year’s Fall Virtual Conference will feature at least two of the LiveStreamed keynote sessions for all attendees.  The rest of the day will offer a variety of workshops.  Here are just a few of the things offered that day:

  • An Introduction to DE Assessment – We will look at the various benchmarks available and how the reported data can be utilized to focus individualized instruction in order to maximize your teaching to its fullest.
  • Creating Quizzes in the Progress Zone – In addition to the vast library of SPI-related questions, the Progress Zone allows you to create your own questions and share them with other teachers in your school or across the district.  We will look at how to create various formative assessments and graded quizzes within the Progress Zone.
  • 7 Ways to Flip Your Instruction – Whether you want to do a total flip in your classroom, or just perform a few somersaults, we’ll demonstrate 7 tools and 3 formats for creating online video instruction.  Your job is to choose the one that best suits your needs.
  • Archived video from the live Fall Virtual Conference will run all day in one of our computer labs.  We will offer something for everyone!

The workshop will begin at 9 AM, with registration and light breakfast refreshments beginning at 8.  We will provide lunch for all attendees and be done promptly at 3 PM!

The Knoxville Fall Virtual Conference will be hosted at the L&N STEM Academy housed in the historic L&N Railway Station at World’s Fair Park in downtown Knoxville.  Bring your iPads or laptops in order to follow along with everything that is happening that day!

(Registration links disabled)

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 27!
