If you are in the Kissimmee, Florida area, you might want to check out this LC Event, organized by Debbie Bohanan.
Have you ever visited a museum and wished there was more information on the topic? If so, Museum Makers is the workshop for you. We are going to start our day with a tour of the new Veterans Tribute Museum in Kissimmee, FL. The museum is full of great artifacts, models, and displays of military history and historical events. After touring the museum, the group will select an event to learn more about. Using Discovery, groups will locate video clips to illustrate that event in history. Next, participants will learn how to create an animation using Frames. This knowledge will be used to animate an event that relates to their video clips. The final step will be to create a QR code that will enable visitors to the museum (Osceola County Students) to view the information on a SMART Phone, IPod Touch, IPad, or other SMART device.
This workshop will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Veterans Tribute Museum in Kissimmee, FL located at 5210 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Kissimmee, FL 34746 from 8:30AM – 3:30PM. Teachers will be required to bring their laptop with the trial version of Frames installed in advance.
Space is limited to 20 participants. When you register, you’ll receive an email if you have been placed on the waiting list.
