Extended Learning

There are always so many opportunities to attend conferences.  I love attending conferences to of course gain new learning… but even more to connect with others throughout the eduverse.  I teach in a self contained classroom, so I welcome an opportunity to connect with educators outside the classroom.  At the end of September I was able to help organize #EdCampDallas you can find my blog about it here.

I loved participating in the #DENvirtcon that happened today (who doesn’t like choosing their own learning at their own pace!)

If you are in the Texas area there are 2 great conferences coming up!

October 27th is TCEA Area 20 Google Apps for Education Summit in San Antonio.  I admit it.. I am a google fanatic!  I am super excited about learning some new tips and tricks to use in the classroom.  I am even more excited about meeting some of my edtech heroes!  The presenter list is unbelievable.  I will be headed there and will be presenting over using blogs in the classoom. (oh.. did I mention that this one is FREE!)

November 3rd is TCEA1011 in Frisco.  Another great list of presenters and the Keynote is Carl Hooker! This will be another great day of learning and collaborating with other educators.  I will be presenting on connecting classrooms.

I love attending Saturday conferences, because I don’t have to miss school.. and I seem to meet other educators that are really focused on education (hello.. who gives up Saturdays other than other rockstars!)  Have you attended some great conferences lately?  What was your big take away?
