Evidence Scavenger Hunt
Can be used for 1-1 or in small groups. Provide the students with an essential question and challenge the students to find as many assets in Techbook that provide evidence that students can use to build a claim about the essential question. Use the scientific explanation activity from Techbook to assist the students in the process. Determine a time limit but do not go longer than 15 minutes. At the end of the time limit the students will share out the assets they found explaining how the evidence in the asset is valid. The teacher should record the asset and evidence discussion on a class template that is projected for all students to see. Students can then use this information to develop their own scientific explanation for the essential question.
