DEN STARs in the News: Krystal Irby

Albuquerque DEN STAR Krystal Irby was selected as the Albuquerque Public Schools Foundation/TIG Innovative Teacher for the month of January.  Krystal teaches science at McKinley Middle School.  She was selected for using innovative practices utilizing technology in her classroom instruction.  She received $2500 for technology in her classroom!

Take a look at this wonderful article about her accomplishments and includes this great quote from Krystal:

“Our students need to be using technology in as many real-world capacities as we can provide,” said Irby, this month’s TIG/APS Education Foundation Innovation Award winner. “Almost any job out there today involves the use of technology, especially to communicate and for job training that more than likely will be administered online.”

Way to go Krystal, keep up the good work!
