DEN March Madness – Entry #11 – Pinterest

Texas DEN STAR Betsy Ruffin has nominated Pinterest for DEN March Madness.  Pinterest allows users to create Boards that are organized by any topic.  On each board, are pins.  A pin starts with an image or video you add to Pinterest.  The pins on Pinterest all link back to their source.  It’s a great way to organize ideas and resources around a topic.

Betsy likes it because with the growing popularity of Pinterest, many teachers may be more comfortable with this tool. Use it to introduce them to the world of Discovery. Pin trading cards to introduce the community folks, pin blog posts of interest, pin links to Discovery-related websites, pin news of events.  Make sure to share the board with teachers.

Here’s Betsy’s Discovery Pinterest Board.

Stay tuned to the DEN Blogs as we continue to share the entries for this year’s DEN March Madness.  If you have a favorite tool to use with Discovery Education content, let us know.  What are some of the tools you use with Discovery Education content?  What do you use to create, share, teach, curate, mashup, and learn with?

Pinterest is addicting. I have to use a timer so that I don’t wander off into Pinterest land.
