We’re excited about all the Media Specialists and lovers of YA books who have signed up to be DENbrarians! Fill out THIS FORM if you want to be added as a DENbrarian to help gather resources for this and future books!

April’s pinboard is going strong with the 2013 Newbery Award winning The One and Only Ivan, by K.A. Applegate.

News Flash: Ivan The Gorilla Hangout On Air April 30th at 3:30!!
The Newbery Medal-winning book The One and Only Ivan has brought the story of Ivan to the forefront for a new generation of readers. They’ll discuss the real Ivan, who called Zoo Atlanta home for 18 years. From the jungles of Africa to the shores of the Pacific Northwest to The Ford African Rain Forest at Zoo Atlanta, his life has become a symbol of the way animals shape our lives — and the power we have to shape theirs.

The hangout will be joined by our educator instructor Carvel Bennett and primate keeper Jodi Carrigan, who was Ivan’s close friend for 10 years.

Hi all! Love the resources and the work you are doing with the DEN resources. Do you have to be a ‘librarian’ to participate or can a tech specialist or other type of educational position ‘count’ as a DENbrarian?
