Idaho DEN STAR and Wendell School District teacher, C.J. Fattig, wrote a grant to remodel her non-science classroom into a Science classroom. The $20,000 grant was awarded by the Monsanto Fund and it will enable her to put in plumbing, a tile floor to replace the carpet, a ventilation system, and science tables to replace the existing one-student desks.
Her project is called Classroom Renovation for Achievement in Science (Cr4As – to look like a chemical formula). Once her structural renovations are finished, she plans on applying for more grants to purchase a science experiment station for each table that includes a laptop, Vernier probeware, a balance, and experiment supplies.
