On Thursday, March 13, CableFax held the 2014 Digital & Tech Awards Luncheon in order to recognize the best of the web and cable technology. The DEN was amongst four other finalists – The Walking Dead, Portlandia, Spartacus and Oprah’s LifeClass – for the 2014 Best Online Community/Social Networking award. And you’ll never guess whose name was in the envelope? That’s right, the DEN!
Here’s what CableFax had to say on their blog:
When 90% of a social network’s participants say it has been professionally useful to them, you know you’re doing something right. The global community of educators who count themselves members of the Discovery Educator Network –more than 200,000 of them – are able to share resources, tools and collaborate about teaching with digital media. Within the community these tech-savvy educators can to build on their current technological skills, network and attend various events to help improve their professional capabilities as educators.
Thank you DEN STARs for assisting us in building our online community. We are excited that this community of educators was recognized. DEN was acknowledged because of the great things you are doing, and we look forward to continuing to grow with all of you!
