Happy Mousey Monday to our Cache and Cookies readers! Today is the day that the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History closes its dinosaur hall for a previously announced $48 million, 5 years long renovation project.
The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum complex, located in Washington, DC. Discovery Education has an entire Content Collection dedicated to the museum complex founded by James Smithson.
James Smithson was a British mineralogist and chemist. Discovery Education has a brief Encyclopedia Article for you to share with your students to leave more about who James Smithson was.
Although we are sad to know that the dinosaur hall within Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History closes today, we are excited about the upcoming renovations. In the meantime, if you and your students cannot readily make a trip out to Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, please take advantage of our resources and explore this museum virtually! Please feel free to tweet us at @DESupportStars with #mouseymondays to share your thoughts and comments! Have a happy Mousey Monday everyone!
