Kyle began by giving #NOTATDENSI2014 a shout out. Thanks, Kyle. A feel good moment. Kyle also liked the energy in the audience for an at-the-end-of-the-day presentation. Kyle said much of his job connects him with Discovery corporate assets and that is always a pleasure. Kyle said that DE has changed in leaps and bounds, and his segue to types of resources and free things Discovery Education offers for teachers. The brands DE works with are like-minded folks who want to make a bigger impact on education and they value DE and DEN expertise. Through our DEN ideas we have come up with new ideas for collaboration, inspiration.
So today we are taking a look at featured programs and partnerships. Partnerships that provide great content, partnerships that provide curriculum, and finally partnerships with contests. And these contests often garner a lot of publicity, for DE and its winners. And these programs are all about extending community. What Kyle wants us to remember is that we find these freebies by NOT logging into DE. There are there before you even log in.
Kyle recommends you start with Featured Programs. His live audience is working on programs. We can join them too by going the bitly link in the photo. Because the images are all so dark from the presentation, click here for the list. Technical difficulties abound and we have static–and lots of it–but no sound and no presenter. Difficult to tell if someone is addressing the issue because no one from DE is speaking with us in the chat room. Refreshing my browser didn’t help, either. Such a shame but can’t be helped. While we are waiting, I’ve added a screen shot of resources that are free and their url.
Very much later, Steve Dembo ameliorated the problem. Volume and static an issue but we are moving on. I can remember many times tech things went wrong in the classroom. Back in the day. So glad I waited out this glitch because the sharing out from the the list of free resources from our live audience has been awesome.
Some cool things to know: there will be some cool giveaways and a sub-group in DEN but that’s all I know and can say. Loved that Kyle had his audience present the free DE resources they chose. We realize that not all the resources that DE provides were shared, but in closing, we simply direct you to the website where you can be your own explorer mining resources. Thank you so much for joining us for the day, either live or virtually. Simply the best.
