Simply take two forks, and place them against each other (as shown) and insert the quarter between the top two sets of tines, with the edge of the quarter nearly at the backs of the forks. While holding them together, take the “long side” of the quarter, and gently place it on the rim of the glass.
It works because of where you place the center of gravity. It may take a couple tries to get the hang of it, but once you have it down, you can amaze friends, relatives, and restaurant waiters/waitresses with your “magic” abilities!
