This week on tech Wednesday, I’m featuring one of the best programming resources available online for free! Codeacademy is an educational platform geared towards teaching the fundamentals of code. Founded in 2011 by two former Columbia students (Zach Sims and Ryan Bubinski) Codeacademy has gained worldwide recognition. The site currently teaches six programming languages to over 20 million users! I guess being a computer nerd isn’t so unpopular after all?!
Aimed towards both beginner and advanced users, the site serves as a pseudo classroom, complete with forums and sandboxes (open editors for creating customized code). All you need to get started is an e-mail or social media account (Facebook or Google +)! As summer begins to wind down, why not take some time to expand your knowledge? Who said learning had to be boring? Have a great rest of the summer and happy coding!
