Yesterday, 800,000+ teachers and students from around the world joined our virtual field trip to The Tower of London to commemorate the centenary of the First World War . Events like this is one of the many virtual and in-person events held each year that are designed to connect students and teachers with real world experiences as well as each other. Over the last week Hall Davidson and I, along with members from the Discovery Education UK team, had the privilege to visit with teachers and students from around the UK. Our very first DEN Community virtual event was a huge success last Thursday, with teachers joining us from across the UK and North America. The DEN Community officially launches in the UK in January 2015, but excitement is already building.
On November 10th Discovery Education presented a 30 minute national school assembly to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, live from the Tower of London. Presented by Tim Vincent, Melissa Nathoo & Hall Davidson. Brilliant is the word that comes to mind to describe the event. I encourage you to view the broadcast today, with your students if at all possible. Additional supporting resources are also provided.
