Brain Breaks with GoNoodle

logo-green-spotsThis morning I was going through my Facebook feed like I do every single morning. Virginia STAR Discovery Educator Kat Staton shared an article by our friends at Edutopia, Energy and Calm: Brain Breaks and Focused-Attention Practices. The author says, “When we take a brain break, it refreshes our thinking and helps us discover another solution to a problem or see a situation through a different lens.” She goes on to list some really cool ideas you can use in your classroom, but I have one of my very own: GoNoodle.

I reached out to the folks over at GoNoodle. I’m a big fan of their brain breaks, so I told them. Their short desk-side physical activities help teachers manage their classroom and improve student performance. And, well… let’s be honest, they are a fun way to get the wiggles out.

Would you believe it if I told you that they love the DEN so much that they said I could give you premium access for FREE until May of 2016 just for being a member of the Discovery Education Community. Yes. FREE! Yes! MAY 2016.

Here’s what you need to do to get it:

  1. Go here:
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the purple “I have an activation code” button.
  3. Enter this code: DEN-us
  4. Tell my new friends at GoNoodle “thanks!” by mentioning @gonoodle in a Tweet
  5. Please don’t skip step 4. Your thanks go a long way when we are asking other companies to help us give you cool stuff to try.
  6. Have fun!

If you already have the free account you just scroll to where it asks to upgrade, click on it, then scroll to the bottom and it will also say “I have an activation code” and viola! Thanks again GoNoodle and DEN!

Had fun planning ISTE 2015 with Go Noodle. We did brain breaks constantly. Love the stretching ones.

I’m also noticing that the code doesn’t work. Is this still an active offer?
