This morning I was going through my Facebook feed like I do every single morning. Virginia STAR Discovery Educator Kat Staton shared an article by our friends at Edutopia, Energy and Calm: Brain Breaks and Focused-Attention Practices. The author says, “When we take a brain break, it refreshes our thinking and helps us discover another solution to a problem or see a situation through a different lens.” She goes on to list some really cool ideas you can use in your classroom, but I have one of my very own: GoNoodle.
I reached out to the folks over at GoNoodle. I’m a big fan of their brain breaks, so I told them. Their short desk-side physical activities help teachers manage their classroom and improve student performance. And, well… let’s be honest, they are a fun way to get the wiggles out.
Would you believe it if I told you that they love the DEN so much that they said I could give you premium access for FREE until May of 2016 just for being a member of the Discovery Education Community. Yes. FREE! Yes! MAY 2016.
Here’s what you need to do to get it:
- Go here: gonoodle.com/signup
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the purple “I have an activation code” button.
- Enter this code: DEN-us
- Tell my new friends at GoNoodle “thanks!” by mentioning @gonoodle in a Tweet
- Please don’t skip step 4. Your thanks go a long way when we are asking other companies to help us give you cool stuff to try.
- Have fun!
