Exclusive virtual field trip next Wednesday, May 18th @ 1pm ET, with Connie Britton, star of Nashville and Friday Night Lights (and United Nations Development Programme Goodwill Ambassador), and the students of Staten Island Academy. Connie Britton will lead the discussion on the root causes and impact of poverty, explore how students are helping others in need, and inspire students to make a difference. 

  • In 2014, 47 million people lived in Poverty USA. That means the poverty rate for 2014 was 15%
  • In 2014, 21% of all children (15.5 million kids) lived in Poverty USA—that’s about 1 in every 5 children
  • Almost half the world — over three billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day
