The STARs at Night are Big and Bright Deep in the Heart of Texas!

The countdown to the end of the year has officially started! This past semester has been full steam ahead for the DEN Community in Texas. Not only were numerous DEN Ambassadors programs held across the state, they have also been shining at Dining with the DEN, Day of Discovery, and local conferences. Most recently, teachers from Garland ISD got together for Dining with the DEN and the next week teachers from Lamar Consolidated came together to celebrate wrapping up their inaugural Ambassador Program.

On Monday, November 28th Garland ISD educators jumped right back into the grove after the Thanksgiving break. Over Tex-Mex and conversation, these educators had an evening of discussion and laughter making new friends and sharing about their use of Discovery Education Streaming and Techbook. With many “aha!” moments and plans to do it all again, the night ended on a high note of learning and leading.

The next week, Lamar Consolidated ISD teachers held their third DEN Ambassador meeting and then came together to celebrate all their new found success and resources. Teachers jumped right into sharing everything they have done with the SOS and how it has changed their teaching. At each Dining with the DEN and DEN Ambassador meeting, DEN STARs tried out a few of the strategies and even mashed some up anxious to take them back to their classrooms.

Be on the look out next semester for more Dining with the DEN opportunities. In the mean time, apply to host a DEN Ambassador program in your district.
