In preparation for the Future Farmers of America Virtual Viewing Party on November 14, 2017, encourage your students to expand their career aspirations to combine their interest in animals with careers in agriculture. Whether your students are interested in hands-on animal care, animal research, the development of technology for agriculture, or something else, it’s never too early to start learning about what is available on the farm and beyond in the field of agriculture.

Use the strategy The Question Is… (Canadian Version) from the Spotlight on Strategies (SOS) series to solidify students’ understanding of agriculture and the variety of careers available within the field, especially those that require work with animals. Create at least five answers for which students will create plausible questions. Answers can be quite broad: potential answers include veterinarian, agriculture, career, etc.
