About Marybeth O'Brien

Discovery Education has expanded upon the content that the district curriculum offers. It has reignited my passion to engage students into the concepts that seem so much more complex than they really are. Through the webinars offered through the DEN, I too became a learner in the field of technology. In this educational age, technology in the classroom is cutting edge. With each day, technology evolves and the best practices of advanced users deserve to be shared. Being a member of the DEN thus far, has provided me with the direction, motivation, and resources to enhance my teaching. Teaching in a community where the biggest challenge we face is convincing our students that education is opportunity; keeping them engaged in the lesson and providing them with stimulating projects is key. Discovery Education and its partners provide educators with the tools to engage students into the learning process. Upon introducing them to some of the features of Streaming, the students were highly motivated to begin researching and writing! I am enthusiastic, passionate, and innovative. This is worth sharing with the DEN community! Learning from other educators is what allows educators to remain on the cutting edge!
