About Rebekka Stasny

I am a 7th grade science teacher at Electa A. Lee Magnet Middle School in Bradenton, FL. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescent Science. I have a Master’s Degree in Integrating Technology in the classroom, but I am finding that what I learned a mere 4 years ago is already outdated, so I am in the progress of getting caught up with all the new ways to integrate technology in my classroom.
In my free time I love to visit the beach and go fishing.

  1. The Untethered Classroom

I was told it couldn’t be done – so of course I had to prove them wrong. Since last year when I received a class set of i-Pads through a grant that I participated in, I have wanted to be able to project my iPad and all of the apps that I have through my […]

  2. Everyone Has A Story

My story begins at the Day of Discovery my district hosted this week. I love Discovery and try to share my love that all Discovery has to offer with anyone that will take a minute to listen. 5. Going Rouge…No, Going Digital.

This seemed to be one of the common themes presented at FETC this year. The DEN Day of Discovery at Sea World started with Scott Kinney’s presentation, which included the You-Tube video – Joe’s Non-Netbook. This video shows how disconnected our students are with their classroom texts. Discovery’s very own Hall Davidson presented an eye […]

  7. What I'm Thankful for…

The Thanksgiving holiday is about taking the time to reflect upon what we are thankful for. One of the things that I am thankful for is the cornucopia of resources that DE has to offer. It is a virtual buffet of educational and professional resources, however it still amazes me that some of my colleagues […]

  8. Science Fair Central

Science Fair. Mutter those words to students and they will either jump for joy or groan. Mention the words to parents and they often will groan louder. Somehow over the years science fair has gotten a bad name. Could it be that students are expected to conduct an experiment at home with little time spent […]
