Dave Solon, STAR Discovery Educator hailing from Pennsylvania, is truly living it up ‘Discovery style!‘ The most recent episode of his show Twenty Minutes For Tech features an interview with me about the DEN, a promo from the captains on Deadliest Catch and a truly amazing interview with Jeff Corwin. I’ve seen Corwin a couple of times now, and I was blown away by how open and candid he was with David.
Truly an interview worth hearing, and a fantastic testament to the opportunities you all have available to you as DEN members! Thanks for sharing, David!
A few days ago, a few members of our Second Life Leadership Council were invited to be guests on the weekly internet radio show, Women of Web 2.0. It’s an hour long conversation that bounces between the DEN and Second Life and really highlights the amazing things that the SL LC have accomplished in world! Fred Delventhal, Nancy Sharoff, Anne Truger, Lori Abrahams, and Elaine Plybon were live on the line, but there were many many more DEN members in the chat room.
Stop by and give it a listen!
Don’t be afraid!
It’s just a Halloween themed podcast with some some news from around the DEN! Chris Marshall and Dawn Strunk give updates from their parts of the country and we hear a snippet of a podcast featuring our Discovery Educator Abroad, Claudia Novak. To close the podcast, we have a trick from Matt Monjan about closed captioning that’s sure to be a treat for you. Enjoy the show!

The Discovery Educator Network is very pleased to bring you our very first podcast! We know who the stars of the DEN are, and they aren’t the people recieving paychecks from Discovery. The real stars are the teachers who are passionate about education and are willing to take the time to share their knowledge with other teachers. So it’s only fitting that our podcast focus on Discovery Educators themselves and their thoughts about technology and education. All of the interviews for this podcast were recorded at the TCEA conference in Texas.
The featured Discovery Educators are:
Phyllis Mullane – El Paso ISD
Judy Riggle – Borger ISD
Arturo Guajardo – Austin ISD
Gay Grissom, Sherry Brott, Pam Neven – Carroll ISD
A special thanks to Chris Marshall and Michelle Weeks for organizing the the DEN events at TCEA. If you want to read more about them, here are a few blog posts!
