Do you yearn for real life problem solving events for your students?  Want to combine math, science, social studies, and critical thinking?  Wish your kids could learn in a creative way and integrate technology? Looking for ways to merge language skills into other lessons?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then consider participating in the 2009 Mystery Class.  It is a free international internet project.

This description comes from their web site:

Every Monday between February 2 and April 13, 2009, students will record their local sunrise and sunset times on their Data Sheets. Using this information they will calculate day length (photoperiod) in their hometown. On the same days, students at ten secret Mystery Class locations around the world will also record their own local sunrise and sunset data. Then, on Friday of each week, the data from the secret Mystery Classes will be posted. On May 1, students will predict where the ten Mystery Classes are hiding! The primary clue: As spring sweeps across the Northern Hemisphere, day length changes everywhere on earth. (http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/mclass/How.html)

My students claimed they learned the most from this project. Check out the above website and register this week!
